Pima Community College Center of Opportunity

Pima Community College Center of Opportunity received $112,000 ($192,710 over two years)

Pima Community College Foundation (Pima Foundation) and Pima Community College (PCC) have built a PCC state of the art learning center on the grounds of the Center of Opportunity campus. Guests at the Center of Opportunity, created by a generous donation from the Humberto S. Lopez Family Foundation, are eligible to enter the Workforce Training Program. The program, taught by PCC instructors, focuses on training guests in high-demand employment areas including Information Technology, Culinary Arts, Building and Construction and Commercial Truck Driving. Those enrolled in this fast track PCC workforce training program pay nothing and, upon completion, are better equipped to secure sustainable living-wage jobs that allow them to move out of the Center into their own home.
