Raises over $200,000 for Our Community!

The Tucson Classics Car Show (TCCS) was started by the Rotary Club of Tucson because we want our community to succeed and flourish. We have carefully studied the most pressing community needs and have determined that dramatically improving childhood literacy will have the greatest long-term positive impact for Tucson.

From the first TCCS in 2007 through 2015, we have supported Reading Seed, a program of Literacy Connects, to help children read at grade level by fourth grade.  From 2016 through 2020, our primary beneficiary will be Make Way for Books, which focuses on early literacy by age 5.  This research-based program impacts 30,000 children, parents and educators throughout Southern Arizona to provide high quality early learning which has been shown to improve high school graduation rates by up to 70%.

In addition to literacy organizations, Tucson Classics Car Show proceeds have benefited other charities, including Youth on Their Own, Casa del la Luz Foundation, Tucson Youth Development, YWCA, El Rio Foundation, Imago Dei Middle School, to name a few.  In the last ten years, the Rotary Club of Tucson Foundation has donated over $1,085,300 in TCCS proceeds to local non-profits. This year, in addition to Make Way for Books, Pima County JTED, GAP Ministry, Caregiver Training Institute and YWCA Women’s Impact Fund will benefit directly from the proceeds of the Tucson Classics Car Show.

Rotarians plan and work all year long to make the TCCS Southern Arizona’s most successful, well-known, fun, family oriented car show.  The event itself is another part of our contribution to the community.  We keep the ticket price at $5 and include a raffle entry, bring in over 400 fantastic collector, classic and one-of-a-kind cars, and offer food and entertainment for an affordable event for the whole family. Kids get in free with a paid adult, and can participate in literacy activities.

Your participation and support of this annual event means you are civic minded and want to help our community address our most pressing social issues. Your sponsorship associates your company with a select group of community minded leaders who are working to advance Tucson. In becoming a sponsor, you get to share in the build-up for the event, participate in the exciting day and receive an assortment of valuable benefits.

Perhaps the best reward for your support and participation is that you learn about Rotary, the good that it does in the community and the world, and you then decide to join us and become a lifelong Rotarian. Just ask any member about what Rotary means to him or her.
